i was a swimmer once i never had too try surfing
Anything that works your shoulders. Pull down weight machines, side lifts with free weights, bench press, overhead/military press.
Also, find a leg machine that will work on your hip flexors.
You need shoulder, chest and back strength in particular so do shoulder press, frontal raises, lateral fly, chest press, etc and rowing machine can help too, because it uses more or less the same muscle group.
Shoulders, and deltoids muscle (side and front lift )
Triceps ( with your arms behind your head, bending your elbow )
Back ( dumbbells fly )
These exercises help to build up the muscles you use in swimming but you should also work on the weak muscles that donut work allot during swimming such as ( inner chest and biceps ) so you can also do bench press , and biceps exercises )
If you have free weights do arm and shoulder excersises! For your back lay on the floor on you stomach and hold yourself up using your back, do sit ups, V sits and squats! That should work well for you they do for me!
The best exercises for swimmers are exercises which build and strenthen their core muscles. Sit-ups, Leg lifts, crunches.
