What animal should I use in logo for a kid’s fitness site?

Aaron asked:

I want to make part of my fitness web site fun for kids so I was thinking some kind of Animal Mascot would be great. I just can’t think of a good one that kids will like, and represents fitness at the same time. I’m not using a gorilla because I’ve seen that too many times so any other suggestion will be appreciated.

how about a tiger (maybe a tiger cub?) — their strength, agility and fierceness can represent good fitness qualities for kids.

Kangaroo. Mother kangaroos are usually seen with their “child” (so representing adult/child bonding), and kangaroos are always hopping around (so representing exercise/fitness).

I think that a cute Cheetah dressed in fitness gear would be cute for the kids. Cheetahs are the fastest runners, and they stay fit always. You never find a fat and lazy cheetah sitting around collecting dirt. They are always up and moving and they are the best predators because of their speed. I would have a cheetah cat dressed in an Olympic outfit looking like a track runner.

I would have to say, quite conclusively, that a sloth would be a bad choice. Actually, a hippo might be a bad one too.

Haha, how about a T-rex with some big, beefy arms.

A brontosaurus in a sweatband and sweatshirt.
The idea just appeals to me. :]
I guess you could take any active animal and dress it up in some workout clothes.
Try:
cheetah
monkey
lion
tiger
bird

My first thought was: Tiger
The orange, black and white of a tiger grabs your attention immediately. The stripes are also a dynamic feature of the tiger.
Tigers are cool, when you think about doing fitness, and you are really giving it you all, you’re a tiger!
Tigers can be tough, but cute at the same time, something both girls and boys can embrace, even a tiger cub can be given a sense of athletic prowess.
Lions are okay, but they don’t send the message of movement so much as prestige, and they don’t have the fun colors of the tiger.
Leopards have lots of spots, which, if not done just right, can be a really complicated-looking drawing.

This is coming from a real kid: A monkey or dog would be good.

why not make it a group picture with different animal helping each other out why just stay at one?
